In the
past two decades since reform and opening up, with a sustained,
rapid and healthy development, light industry in China has made
significant achievements. At the moment, light industry production
value, realized tax and profits and value of exports account
respectively for one third of the nation's total industrial
production value, realized industrial tax and profits and value of
exports.
China National Light Industry Council is a nation-wide comprehensive
industry intermediary organization with service and management
functions. With the wide representation of industry and the service
aim, it will act as the bridge between government and enterprises,
and make great efforts to promote light industry development in
China and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.
Main Sectors of Light Industry in China: pulp and paper making,
household electric appliances, foodstuffs and beverages, chemical
products for daily use, leather and fur as well as their products,
furniture, plastic products, daily-use mechanical devices, silicates
for daily use, lighting devices, salt-making, cultural, educational
and sporting goods, arts and crafts, metal products, weighing
devices, sundry articles for daily use, toys, interior decoration,
light industrial machinery, packaging printing and decoration and
others.
Main Functions: carry out industry investigation and research, and
provide suggestions to the government on economic policies and
legislation; organize the industry statistical work, and the
collection, analysis, research and issuance of industry information;
participate in drafting industry plans, and conduct preliminary
proof and examination on investment, development, key technological
innovation and import projects; strengthen industry self discipline,
standardize industry activities, foster specialized markets and
maintain fair competition; carry out technical exchanges, economic
and trade cooperation at home and abroad; organize the
recommendation of key scientific and technological achievements;
participate in drafting, revising national and industry standards,
and organize the implementation and supervision; reflect industry
situation and enterprise desires, and maintain the legal rights of
industry and enterprises; organize personnel, technical and
professional skill training.
CPCIA-
China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (CPCiA), a
non-profit-oriented social body consisting of voluntary enterprises,
institutions, professional associations and local societies of
petroleum and chemical industry, runs as national comprehensive
medium organization with some servicing and managing functions.
The main missions of CPCIA are as follows: CPCIA will ally forces of
domestic industries and develop international cooperation so to
promote technological advancement and make industry progress.
Moreover, it will reflect the needs of enterprises and maintain
their profits. Furthermore, it will strengthen exchange with
government, serve as a bridge between government and enterprises,
assist government in industrial management.
CPCIA's business functions can be detailed as follows: 1.Strengthen
industrial regulations, normalize industrial operation and maintain
fair market construction. 2.Handle investigation and research work
for industrial economic development, make proposals about economic
policy and legislation to government departments. 3.Conduct
industrial statistics, engage in data analysis and periodical
information release. 4.Participate in the industrial planning,
undertake the pre-feasibility study of major projects concerning
investment, technical renovation and technology import. 5.Develop
economic and technical exchange and cooperation both home and
abroad, carry out exhibitions, seminars on technological and
academic exchange. 6.Participate in market construction, render
consulting service about patent protection, anti-dumping,
anti-subsidy and anti-smuggling. 7.Recommend major scientific
research projects, identify scientific and technical results, extend
the applications. 8.Take part in the production and alteration of
national industrial standard, and bring them through to
accomplishment. 9.Launch quality management and participate in
quality control. 10.reflect the needs of members and the situation
of this industry, protect the legal rights and profits of out
members. 11.Organize training programs for talents, technical and
professional personnel. 12.Instruct enterprises to better
management, and provide relevant consulting service. 13.Offer
membership associations' management and business guidance.
CPCIA was officially opened on April 28,2001.At present, it
possesses 265 members, among which, membership associations and
local associations numbers 59.All its sub-associations and
enterprises totals more than 5000.which,cover some 70% of this
industry scope.
CCCME-Founded
in July 1988,China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of
Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) is a self-discipline and
nationwide trade organization, formed jointly and voluntarily by
various economic organizations registered in accordance with law in
the People's Republic of China and engaged in import and export and
export of machinery and electronic products and related activities.
Now it has more than 4,700 members. According to the provisions in
Article 35 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of
China, the aim of the Chamber is to provide coordination, guidance,
consultation and service. Its detailed functions are: to abide by
the Constitution, laws, regulations and the policies of the State,
to observe social morality, to conduct coordination and guidance
towards import and export business and relevant activities, to
provide advice and service for its members and other organizations,
to maintain normal foreign trade order, to protect fair competition,
to safeguard the national interests and lawful rights and interests
of its members, and to promote the healthy development of import and
export business.
The Chamber Mainly focus on: Working as abridge and a link between
government and its members. Publicize the foreign trade laws, rules,
principles and policies of the State, so as to guide and supervise
its members in lawful operation; Reflect information, opinion and
suggestion of its member enterprises on behalf of their interests to
government departments concerned on the basis of investigation and
analysis in order to provide basis for government departments
concerned to formulate related policies; Maintain close ties between
members and departments concerned, such as banks, insurance
companies, customs, and authorities for foreign exchange
administrations, bureau of commodity inspection and authorities
responsible for foreign trade and economic relations to help member
enterprises get policy-related support; Join the relevant
international organizations and attend relevant international and
professional meetings on behalf of the members. Establish and
strengthen links with foreign counterparts from various countries
and regions to carry out information exchanges and develop business
cooperation.
Implementing duties entrusted by the government or requested by the
members and regulated by the members and regulated by the trade
agreement: Organize bidding work of export quota under the guidance
of the Tendering Committee of Export Commodities of MOFTEC; Assist
the Customs in verifying the prices of export items; Organize
experts in examining the international bidding documents and
evaluating bidding reports on specific machinery and electronic
products; Organize experts involving in evaluating and examining
machinery and electronic products in foreign projects aided by the
Chinese government.
Coordination and guidance…maintain normal order of import and export
business: Conduct coordination and guidance towards its members'
import and export business of machinery and electronic products,
coordinate and solve business disputes of import and export between
members, promote self-discipline and maintain the normal foreign
trade order and common interests of its members; Organize members
concerned to respond to foreign allegations of dumping and other
allegations of subsidy or protective measures against China's export
commodities and to carry out training of basic knowledge of
anti-dumping, promote self-discipline and protect proper rights of
the members.

CLIMC-
China National Light Industry Machinery Corp. Authorized by the
State Council, CLIMC was founded in March, 1980 on the basis of the
former Machinery Bureau of the National Light Industry Ministry. The
corporation is a state -owned and state - invested enterprise with a
total assets of RMB 1.8 billion Yuan.
As the only light industry machinery corporation of national scale,
CLIMC provides equipments, technique and service for the light
industry. Due to years of sustained efforts, the corporation gains
high prestige and good reputation at home and abroad and being
listed in the top 500 enterprises in China.
CLIMC consider it a responsibility to push forward the development
of Chinese light industry and international cooperation. APPLAS, as
part of this responsibility, makes CLIMC different from the ordinary
exhibition companies.
CLIMA
- China
National Light Industry Machinery Association. Approved by
pre-Ministry of Light Industry and registered with Ministry of Civil
Affairs, CLIMA was officially established in March 1989. It
currently has about 800 memberships, composing of manufacturing
enterprises, local light industry machinery associations and
corporations, scientific research & design as well as education
institutes in China. There are presently 13 branches under CLIMA,
while the Plastic & Rubber branch plays a very active role in the
industry.
CLIMA works as a link between the government and the members ,and
also the members and market, assists the government in
administration, and provides information and services to its
members, users of light industry machinery and the government.
CLIMA highlights the cooperation with related associations,
manufacturers and other partners worldwide, to promote mutual
development.
